Road Safety Risk Assessments for Billboards

Our in-house qualified Road Safety auditors carry out Road Safety Risk Assessments in relation to the positioning of billboards on major thoroughfares around the Maltese Islands. The purpose of these assessments is to review the proposed billboard installation and carry out an assessment of the likely changes to road safety risks for all road users associated with the addition of a roadside billboard.  Following a site visit, our transport experts look at the current road safety issues affecting the existing road layout, identify road safety risks, and determine whether the proposed billboard is likely to change each risk.  This is carried out by using a risk assessment matrix inspired by international best practise, while taking into consideration any available collision and traffic flow data, as well as the audit team’s experience on highway safety matters.
