Éilis McCullough is a chartered town planner with over 30 years’ experience of spatial and land use planning, environmental management, and sustainable development. Éilis has worked professionally within both central and local government, in the UK, Ireland, and in Malta, as well as with NGOs, and as an advisor in the community and voluntary sector. She joined the Adi Associates team on her return to Malta after working abroad for some 13 years.
Éilis boasts a rich and diverse career spanning various roles and responsibilities. Her background includes 8 years at the Malta Planning Authority, where she oversaw an Area Planning Team, chaired the Major Projects Group, managed planning appeals, and contributed to the Structure Plan for the Maltese Islands and Marsaxlokk Bay Local Plan. In the UK, she authored national planning policy documents. Before joining Adi Associates, she was in charge of development management for Galway city centre in Ireland.
Currently, Éilis leads the company’s planning support service, assisting local councils and individuals with planning applications, appeals, and various environmental assessments. She also coordinates EIA preparation and handles the environmental noise portfolio.
Her expertise extends to environmental management and sustainable development. She’s worked with the Northern Ireland government on the Sustainable Development Strategy and Sustainability Indicators Set. She’s collaborated with councils in Malta, the UK, and Ireland to develop sustainability plans and provided grassroots planning and environmental strategy support in multiple countries.
Éilis excels in education, consultation, and public engagement. She’s dedicated to enhancing community involvement, promoting inclusivity, and advancing Adi Associates’ equality certification.
