EIA for the redevelopment of the Comino Hotel

Adi Associates were commissioned by HV Hospitality Ltd to prepare an Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIA Report) for the redevelopment of the existing 100-guestroom Comino Hotel and Bungalows complex located on the north coast of the island of Comino.  The proposal was to provide for a new hotel with 71 guestrooms, with amenities including food and beverage outlets, outdoor swimming pools, and a spa and serviced bungalows initially comprising 21 bungalows in place of the existing bungalows.

The EIA included a detailed description of the proposal and the site with a number of technical studies on the geo-environment of the site, terrestrial and marine ecology, avifauna, the marine environment, archaeology and cultural heritage, landscape and visual amenity and the impacts from noise and vibration.

The EIA process involved discussions with several stakeholders during the formulation of the EIA Report and following submission. The EIA also resulted in a modification to the project where the number of bungalows was reduced
