David Micallef

Assistant Transport Planner

David Micallef is a newly appointed assistant transport planner at Adi Associates, aiding with Green Travel Plans and traffic studies. He holds an MSc in Transport and Geoinformation Technology from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, and wrote his thesis at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, on the generation of open synthetic Swiss population data for Agent-Based simulations in Switzerland, aiming to improve accessibility of ABM research.

After graduation, David contributed to traffic and parking studies and stakeholder engagement for the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) for Malta. He is also involved in an Interreg-MED project at the University of Malta focused on understanding Mobility Hubs within the Mediterranean context.

Looking ahead, David is particularly interested in both the holistic national-level network planning as well as the nuanced behavioural aspects of transport. He is further exploring ABMs and transport modelling for more holistic policy testing and decision-making.

Outside of work, David enjoys voluntary work, sport, and reading.
