Andrea Pace

PLANNING CONSULTANT

Andrea Pace is a geographer with experience in geographic information systems, land use surveys, traffic data collection and transport studies. He started working with Adi Associates in the fields of planning and transport as a freelance consultant in 2009. In 2012 he joined Adi Associates as a full-time employee. Andrea is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (FRGS).

Andrea leads the company’s GIS team, providing core mapping and analysis services. He also contributes to Project Description Statements, Transport Impact Assessments, AADT estimations, and more. He is also trained in environmental noise measurement and occupational noise and vibration.

Since joining Adi Associates, Andrea has been involved in a wide range of regional projects, including the Bengħisa Area Action Plan, a Sustainable Locality Action Plan for the Għajnsielem Local Council, a Master Plan for Sustainable Diving Tourism (Malta), a survey of the Victoria Lines to assess the wall’s condition and the state of the immediate surroundings, a restoration plan, a master plan and a vision for Chadwick Lakes, the Valley Catchments Management Plans for Malta and Gozo and the San Pawl Il-Baħar Regeneration Plan. He was also part of international project teams working on Natura 2000 site management plans, the National Risk Assessment for Malta, and a Mediterranean island wetlands inventory.

Andrea holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Malta, where his research focused on urban growth modelling and development permits. His research interests include spatial analysis, urban geography and planning, transport, historical geography and the application of GIS to environmental and planning studies. He has lectured at the University of Malta on cartography, Environmental Impact Assessment, and GIS. He has also contributed cartographic expertise to a number of academic publications and research articles.

Andrea has a passion for archaeology, history, and cultural heritage.
