Introduction
Purpose of Study
The scope of the Study is to formulate a Master Plan for diving in Malta that assesses the on-shore and underwater characteristics of the dive sites in Malta and to propose a strategy for the future of the diving industry. This information will be used as the basis for future developments, and will provide a framework for approval by the competent authorities of development projects related to the diving industry.
The Study will also provide a platform for a common understanding between the authorities and the stakeholders in the tourism industry, and more specifically the diving industry. This will enable the diving industry in Malta to progress on a more sustainable footing.
The Questionnaire
The aim of this questionnaire is to collect data, comments, and views from the main stakeholders, and to rank the dive sites in Malta.
The Consultants
This study is being carried out by Adi Associates Environmental Consultants Ltd on behalf of the Malta Tourism Authority. Adi Associates is an environmental and land use planning consultancy specialising in a wide range of fields including environmental planning, and urban and marine development.
