Adi Associates prepared a Project Description Statement for a proposal to demolish an abandoned livestock farm and to establish a boatyard in its place.
The proposal aimed to provide a professionally managed boat storage facility, including a maintenance area to allow for repair and maintenance of the boats. The maintenance area included provision for the containment and treatment of surface water and wastewater; a dedicated and bunded waste storage area was also planned. Mitigation measures were also incorporated into the project to reduce emissions of fine dust during paint stripping and volatile solvents during painting. The project site also included measures to improve the visual amenity of the site, including by demolishing the existing derelict farm buildings and ensuring that the boats to be stored on site did not exceed the height of the existing boundary wall.
