Client: Ghajnsielem Local Council
Start / Finish Dates: August – October 2011
The Sustainable Locality Action Plan (SLAP) outlined a five year action plan for the Ghajnsielem local council administrative area, to assist the Local Council in moving the locality towards a more sustainable lifestyle. The SLAP focussed on three areas: sustainable transport / accessibility / mobility; sustainable local economy (promoting local employment and facilitating development of a sustainable farming sector and of the existing crafts and local artisan sector in particular); and sustainable energy (complementing the actions for implementation set out in the 2010 Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP) for Ghajnsielem) .
The SLAP was the outcome of an extensive community engagement process, which included a household mail shot, the setting up of the ‘Ghajnsielem into the Future!’ website, radio broadcasts, focus group discussions and a community-wide interactive exhibition and workshop.
The SLAP, together with a summary booklet for households, was delivered in October 2011.
