In 2021 Adi Associates Directors, Adrian Mallia and Rachel Xuereb, co-authored a paper entitled Numerically enhanced conceptual modelling (NECoM) applied to the Malta Mean Sea Level Aquifer that was published in the Hydrogeology Journal.

Planning Consultant

Andrea Pace is a geographer with experience in geographic information systems, land use surveys and traffic data collection. He has been working with Adi Associates in the fields of planning and transport as a freelance consultant since 2009. He joined Adi Associates Environmental Consultants Ltd as an employee in early 2012. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (FRGS) and a Chartered Geographer.

Andrea is responsible for the preparation of Project Description Statements, Simplified Traffic Statements, assistance in environmental impact assessments (mainly land use and cultural heritage), planning application reviews, traffic count surveys, hotel audits, noise and vibration monitoring, and land use surveys. He assists with the company’s GIS mapping and CAD drawings.

He has been involved in a wide range of projects since joining Adi Associates, including the Benghisa Area Action Plan, a Sustainable Locality Action Plan for the Ghajnsielem Local Council, a Master Plan for a Sustainable Diving Plan (Malta) and a survey of the Victoria Lines to assess the wall’s condition and the state of the immediate surroundings.

Andrea was also part of an international team (Adi Associates and Epsilon International), that worked on the creation of management plans for the Natura 2000 sites in the Maltese Islands. He was also involved in the GIS component of the National Risk Assessment for the Maltese Islands.

Since joining the Company, he has undergone training in environmental noise measurement, occupational noise and vibration.

For his Masters degree, he researched the relationship over time between social indicators in the education and health fields and urban development densities. He has assisted in lecturing modules on basic skills in cartography at the University of Malta. He is currently conducting doctoral research in urban growth modelling at the Department of Geography of the University of Malta.

Andrea has a passion for archaeology, history and cultural heritage. He loves the countryside and is keen on hiking and trekking.
