Adi Undertakes ESIA in Maydh, Somaliland
In February 2016, Adi Associates was commissioned to undertake an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the proposed reconstruction of a jetty in Maydh, Somaliland. The Somaliland Development Fund (SDF) Secretariat commissioned the ESIA that included detailed field and modelling studies. To undertaken this task, Adi Associates formed a team with partners from Ireland (Geomara Ltd), France (Artelia Eau et Environnement), and Somaliland (Gollis University). Read more..

EIA for the Rehabilitation of the Fisheries Port in Berbera, Somaliland concluded
Adi Associates has recently finalised the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the rehabilitation of the fisheries port in Berbera, Somaliland. The project, which commenced in January 2015, included a topographic survey of the port area and its surroundings, noise surveys, a bathymetric survey of the fishing port’s basin, a geotechnical survey, chemical analysis of seabed sediments, a sub-bottom profile survey, and stakeholder consultations. Revised EIA Directive
On the 15 May 2014, the revised Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Directive (2014/52/EU) entered into force. This new Directive aims to simplify the rules for assessing a project’s impact on the environment, reduce the administrative burden, and increase the level of environmental protection. The intention is to make decisions on public and private investments more sound, predictable and sustainable in the longer term. Read more..

Tugboat Tug 2 scuttled off Exiles, Sliema
On the 20th of June, Tugboat Tug 2 was scuttled off Exiles, Sliema to serve as a diving attraction. The vessel was sunk in a controlled operation onto the seabed 20 metres below the surface and some 250 metres away from the shoreline. Read more..

Planning Application for Metropolis, Gzira, renewed
On the 6th of June 2013, MEPA renewed the permit for the development of the Metropolis Plaza in Gżira. This €60 million development will include three high-rise buildings consisting of 13, 27 and 33 floors and feature luxury residences, commercial space, and health, fitness and leisure facilities. Permit for Coast Road granted by MEPA
On Thursday, 9th August the MEPA Board approved the planning application for the upgrading of the Coast Road. Adi Associates were responsible for the coordination of the Environmental Impact Assessment. Read more..
